Paranthropus boisei

Facial recosntruction of the robust australopithecine Paranthropus boisei for Desperta Ferro Arqueología e Historia nº 19: El origen de la humanidad.

The reconstruction was made using the remains OH5 from Olduvai. The skeletal elements was modeled in Zbrush from ortographic photos of the remains and then the soft tissues added as a base for the external appearance.

Over the anatomic base then the facial features can be modeled following close relatives, from modern apes to human features.

Using 3D modelling allows for tridimensional review of anatomy and speed up every subsecuent revisions and changes.
